According to latest data from the National Statistics Office, the number of registered unemployed in January stood at 1,057, down by 15 persons over January 2023 levels, but up on December last year when the figure was 955.

The NSO noted that males accounted for 66.8% or 706 of total registrants while females accounted for the remaining 33.2% or 351.

Decreases in the registered unemployment levels were recorded in the majority of the age groups.

The number of persons with a disability registering for work decreased by six persons over the same period in 2023, reaching 230 persons, this figure was up by 1 on December last year.

Clerical support jobs were once again the most common occupations sought by the registered unemployed.
