The San Lawrenz Local Council, having obtained funds from Europe, will be organizing a conference and a festival in the village between Friday and Saturday, the 30th and 31st of October, to celebrate the Year of Innovation and Creativity.

For this occasion the San Lawrenz Local Council has invited around one hundred guests from Italy and France to participate in the international conference entitled Innovation and Creativity. This conference, which will be held on Friday, the 30th of October in the Kempinski San Lawrenz Hotel, will be addressed by the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono, the Parliamentary Secretary for Public Consultation, Dr Chris Said, the Mayor of San Lawrenz and titular member in the Committee of the Regions, Noel Formosa and also by representatives from Veneto, the Island of Elba and France, who all will be speaking about the importance of the European Identity leading us to be more innovative and creative.

On Saturday the 31st of October, environmental tours will be taking place during the day at Dwejra Bay and then in the evening, in the Main Square of San Lawrenz, exhibitions will be held showing how Malta and Gozo are being innovative and also how local traditions are helping the island of Gozo to be innovative and competitive in today’s reality.

This celebration will come to an end with a concert entitiled ‘d-link, by the duo Chasing Pandora together with their band. The concert kicks off at 9.00pm with a representation of typical Maltese songs, which are being given a modern interpretation by singer Ruth Sammut Casingena and her dancers. Before the concert from 7.00pm onwards there will various activities for everyone to enjoy.
