Voting documents will be delivered by the Police daily from Saturday, the 27th of April until Friday, the 10th, or Saturday, the 11th of May, according to electoral districts, between 8am and 1pm and 3pm and 9pm.
The Electoral Commission advised that this applies to those persons whose name appears in the Electoral Register published on 20th April, 2024, subject to additions, deletions and corrections ordered by the Revising Officer.
Voting documents will be delivered only at the address where the voter is registered. This means it is necessary that at the place of residence there should be a responsible person over 16 years of age who is a relative, and/or resides or works thereat to receive the voting document/s, the Commission said.
Persons receiving the voting document/s will be asked to confirm receipt of the documents by signing on a mobile device provided by the Police Officer, instead of on a register as used to be done previously.
The Electoral law permits political party representatives to accompany the police officer during the delivery. These representatives are supplied with an authorisation tag issued by the Electoral Commission, to be shown on demand.
The Commission warned that “voting documents should be kept in a safe place, as nobody will be allowed to vote without them on polling day.”
