Registered unemployed went up by 131 persons in March - NSOThe number of registered unemployed in March stood at 1,144, an increase of 48 on February, and up by 131 persons over March 2023 levels, the National Statistics Office said today.

Males accounted for 68.4% or 783 of total registrants, while females accounted for the remaining 31.6% or 361 persons.

Increases in the registered unemployment levels were recorded in the majority of the age groups.

The number of persons with a disability registering for work increased by three persons over the same period in 2023, reaching 237 persons. Males accounted for 77.2% of total registrants with a disability, the NSO said.

Clerical support jobs were once again the most common occupations sought by the registered unemployed.
