The Ghaqda Muzikali San Girgor of Kercem organised the first Festubru event over the weekend between the 16th and 18th of October 2009.

This event included a festival of tradition, folk and food, combining local heritage together with the peaceful environment of the most picturesque valley in the islands, the Lunzjata valley in Kercem.

Not withstanding the inclement weather this event attracted an encouraging attendance for most of the activities, including the Brilli game, folk dancing and choir singing by a Russian group, together with food stalls and organised tours around the valley.

Festubru was organised with the collaboration of the Ministry for Gozo.
