Joe Bajada, Alvin Grech and Shaun Paul Attard have been confirmed in the positions of President, Secretary and Treasurer respectively for the Inter Gozitan Supporters Club.

In his message at the Annual General Meeting, Joe Bajada said that last season gave them certain satisfaction by winning two honours including the Championship which gave them the second star and for this occasion the supporters club organised a free activity for members, as well as similar activities during the season but on a smaller scale.

He explained that a tour was organised for members to a Champions League match between Inter and Atletico Madrid in February where three members were flag bearers before the match. While a young supporter on another trip, was chosen to be one of the children in the walkabout before the players enter the dressing rooms for a match against Napoli in March. ”Undoubtedly these were unforgettable experiences.”

Bajada said that the next step for the coming season following the change in leadership with Beppe Marotta appointed as Inter’s new President, ”is that we look ahead with a certain optimism that in the coming season Inter will try again to be among the protagonists in Europe.”

He said that as a Gozitan club, ”even though it is a small one, we have a big heart that beats with Gozitan blood.” He reiterated that, ”we are the only ones in Malta and Gozo which doesn’t take any extra money whenever our members ask us for tickets for Inter games.”

Bajada stressed that ”we continued to believe in ourselves, becoming established nine years ago with total recognition from the Centro Cordinamento, we continued with the help of everyone and our task is to now start looking forward to the celebrations of our 10th anniversary.”

He expressed his thanks to everyone, including fellow officers, Alvin Grech and Shaun Attard for the great work they have done and will continue to do.

Bajada also gave special thanks to the Central Committee of the Kercem Festival for their cooperation over the years.

Joe Bajada appealed to interested Gozitans to renew their membership of the club.

The Gozitan Club also honoured the club’s most loyal member for this year, with the recognition going to Joseph Camilleri.
