A power cut hit across Gozo on Tuesday evening, starting from just before 7.30pm, with power starting to be restored at around 10.30pm.
There was no information provided by Enemalta on its social media pages or on the live power outage map on its main website at any time during the evening until this time of writing.
Residents across the island were left fuming and frustrated by this lack of communication from all levels.

It’s time for a vote of no confidence on the Enemalta management, CEO to go first, same for the Malta Energy Minister. The performance is not adequate for 2024 requirements. Excuses and pointless explanations just a waste of time. Action is required now, since with the same incompetent management it will never get better!
Is this a consequence of the inadequate control of development by Planning, resulting in an ever increasing demand for power and inadequate co-ordination of increasing infrastructure to support same. At 1930 hrs there would have been an increasing demand for AC systems amidst the current temps. Should we be halting all further development until the power infrastructure is reviewed to ensure is capable of supporting same. Are we approaching a need to control tourist numbers like so many other places in Europe?
