In June, the annual rate of inflation as measured by the RPI was 1.3%, down from 1.5% in May, the National Statistics Office said today.

The largest contribution to the overall annual inflation was measured in the Food Index (+0.58 percentage points), which, as in previous months, was largely due to the higher prices of take-aways.

The largest downward contribution was recorded in the Transport and Communication Index (-0.41 percentage points) mainly reflecting the lower prices of mobile phone services.

The 12-month moving average rate for June stood at 2.9%.
