Qala Mayor Paul Buttigieg said that he has spoken with Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri to ask if Gozo residents can renew identity cards in their own village. “I believe that this will be very convenient especially for our elders.”
“He accepted this suggestion and told me that they will start working to provide this service in every village,” said Buttigieg, who also expressed his thanks to the Minister.

Shame they can’t simplify the process for those expats renewing eResidence/ID cards as well. having to provide all the info again and Biometrics just for a change of address when it has only been done perhaps 12 months before is crazy. Information is logged on computer so why do it all again. probably halve the staffs workload as well!
This is a very good idea, and would be useful to everyone!
Kudos to Qala mayor as usual he solves a lot of problems for his village and now this covers the whole of Gozo
