Update from Malta Public Transport below – The Nationalist Party has highlighted “the ongoing failures in the scheduled services of bus routes 300 and X300 that are causing serious disappointment and frustration, particularly among Gozitan students.”
In a statement, the PN stressed that this issue is not only impacting students but also workers who rely on public transport for their daily commutes.
The PN urged the relevant authorities “to take immediate action to resolve this urgent issue. It is unacceptable that despite previous efforts to address the transport needs of Gozitan students, this problem remains unresolved.”
“We will continue to closely monitor this situation to ensure that a solution is found as quickly as possible,” the PN said. “Efficient public transport is crucial to ensuring that both students and workers have the necessary access to education and employment without disruption.”
The PN concluded by encouraging “all those affected to continue voicing their concerns. The Nationalist Party promises to keep working to resolve this situation in the shortest time possible.”
The statement was signed by Alex Borg Shadow Minister for Gozo and Mark Anthony Sammut Shadow Minister for Transport and Mobility.
Malta Public Transport statement
Malta Public Transport said that it would like to refer to the statement issued by Parliamentary Deputies Mark Anthony Sammut and Alex Borg regarding routes 300 and X300.
The company clarified that “while there were some issues with route 300 from Valletta to the University at certain times during the past week, when the schedule changed from summer to winter, these have been resolved, and the service is operating according to the schedule this week.”
Malta Public Transport apologised to Gozitan students and the general public “for any inconvenience that may have arisen.”
“We appreciate our passengers’ patience as we worked to resolve this issue, and we are committed to continuing to improve the level of service we offer to ensure that situations like this do not repeat themselves in the future,” MPT said.
