Leader of the Nationalist Party Bernard Grech and the PN Spokesperson for Gozo Alex Borg, have met with the Gozo Tourism Association at its headquarters in Pieta in preparation for the 2025 Budget.
The PN Leader stated that, “like us, the GTA believes that Gozo should no longer be considered only as an electoral district, but should be recognised as an island region.”
He added that, “like us, they too believe that there is an urgent need for changes so that tourism in Gozo is again one of quality, so that the tourist product improves and so that Gozo continues to offer a unique experience to the tourist.”
The GTA also voiced its concerns about Gozo, namely:
That a fourth ship the same as the other three is needed
That there is a long-term plan and not politics for the election
To protect the unique Gozitan environment that is being quickly lost
That there is a serious policy so that tourism in Gozo is one of quality
To protect the skills of Gozitans
That education in tourism is given priority in Gozo
Finding solutions for the increasing traffic by incentivising the use of alternative transport
PN Leader Bernard Grech said that he “reassured the GTA and the people of Gozo that a Nationalist Government will give a new direction so that tourism in Gozo is of the highest level, so that the people of Gozo can enjoy it, and to preserve the unique character of this island which we all cherish it so much.”
