The Ghajnsielem Local Council said that it “deplores the fact that Gozitan Local Councils have been excluded from the “Vjal Kulhadd” scheme,” a Governement scheme which to revitalise village cores.
The Council pointed out that not one part of the call for application referred to the fact that Gozitan Local Councils cannot apply.
“Once again the Ghajnsielem Local Council took this opportunity to present an ambitious project based on ‘Slow Streets’ concept for our locality which was the fruit of a lot of time, planning, costs and resources,” it said.
The Ghajnsielem Local Council said it therefore made and appeal to Infrastructure Malta, saying that “as the application guidelines did not highlight any restrictions for Gozitan Councils, our application and that of the other Gozitan Councils should be considered as valid.”

They tend to forget that Gozo Comino and Malta are one country I think.
Or maybe it’s because local councils in Gozo take their own interest and initiative to organise activities in their localities unlike most councils in Malta.
