Heritage Malta has launched its calendar of events for this year with over 153 events across Malta and Gozo, 50 more than the previous year.
Minister for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government Owen Bonnici attended the launch, a twelve-month programme full of cultural, educational and interactive experiences for diverse audiences.
The Minister said that this year is a special one as several important anniversaries will be commemorated – including the 50th anniversary of the National War Museum, the 10th anniversary of the opening of Fort St. Elmo, the 110th anniversary of the first sketches of the Tarxien Prehistoric Complex, and the 460th anniversary of the Great Siege – these anniversaries will make the programme even more special.
Heritage Malta CEO Noel Zammit said: “Our vision for the new year is to connect people with Maltese heritage in meaningful and innovative ways.”
