The weekend ahead will see a host of celebrations across Gozo for the launch of the Region of Culture 2025 programme

Between the 31st of January and the 2nd of February, each locality will host an intimate event showcasing traditions, art, and culture that bring communities to life to which everyone is encouraged to go along and join in.

Gozo was announced as the Region for Culture 2025 in November last year. A different region is selected each year to host cultural activities in the respective localities.

The aim is that the unique cultural identity of the island of Gozo will be celebrated through a multidisciplinary programme that explores and combines traditional and contemporary practices.

The programme will cover various cultural and creative disciplines such as dance, music, theatre, visual arts, cinema, literature, cultural heritage, architecture and gastronomy.

Every locality, no matter how small, will participate in this programme which will continue to complement the activities already being carried out by local councils and other organisations on Gozo.
