Bishop of Gozo Anton Teuma, on the 1st of February, appointed Mgr. Jimmy Xerri (from St George’s Parish, Victoria), who is already the Bishop’s Delegate for Diaconia and Director of Diocesan Caritas, as Director of the Arka Foundation, which runs Dar Arka in Ghajnsielem.

The Bishop expressed thanks to Can. Michael J. Galea who has served this institution with love and dedication for the past 15 years, and has now been asked to assist more fully in the pastoral work in the Parish of Xaghra.

The Arka Foundation is managed by a Board of Directors, and the Manager of the Home is Mr. Marco Formosa.

Bishop Anton also appointed Fr. Manwel Magro (from the Parish of the Cathedral of the Assumption, Victoria), as his Delegate for the Church Schools in Gozo.

The Bishop thanked Fr. Giovanni M. Curmi as well as Ms. Christine Scerri who covered these roles in previous years.

Fr. Alex Refalo (from the Parish of the Nativity of Our Lady, Xaghra) has been appointed Parish Administrator of the Parish of the Nativity of Our Lady, Xaghra. This is until a new Archpriest is nominated in the coming months.

The Bishop thanked Can. Richard N. Farrugia for his work during these last months.
