A new exhibit of philately featuring Norbert Attard is on display in the Gozo Philatelic Society in its showcase at Il-Hagar Museum, coinciding with an important retrospective of Norbert Attard at the same centre.
This artist has designed various Malta sets, beginning in 1982 with a look at shipbuilding. Some months later a series of sets began appearing giving the historical development of ships in the Maltese Islands. With MaltaPost’s support, the annotated original designer’s draft is on display as the highlight of this exhibit.
His other productions are also on display, including a 1991 UHM anniversary stamp with a printing defect. Mint stamps, first day covers and even a coin cover make this a really interesting showcase.
Il-Hagar Museum is located in St George’s Square, Victoria and opens from 9am to 5pm seven days a week – without any entrance fee.
