Police said that a 35-year old German national has been arrested after allegedly attacking a 43-year old man from Xewkija with a “sharp and pointed instrument.”

Police were informed by the health authorities at around 12.30am this morning that medical assistance was requested after a man had suffered injuries on Triq Fuq il-Ghajn, in Ghajnsielem.

Police immediately went to the scene and officers carried out a search of the area, where they identified the alleged aggressor, a 35-year-old German man, who was immediately arrested.

Both men were taken to the Gozo General Hospital where the 43-year-old man from Xewkija was certified as having sustained grievous injuries.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
