Gozitan Nationalist Party candidate Luke Said has highlighted the problems being faced by Gozitan students needing to travel by the 300 bus in Malta.

He argued that the 300 bus connecting the Valletta Fast Ferry Terminal to the University of Malta “is becoming increasingly unreliable, and it’s Gozitan students who are paying the price.”

Luke Said noted that just in the last week:

Tuesday: students had to split a van just to get to lectures on time.

Wednesday: the bus showed up 20 minutes late; others paid €10 each for taxis after 4pm.

That’s €10-15 just to attend a single lecture.

He insisted that “this isn’t just about late buses. It’s about fair, affordable access to education.”

Said urged Tallinja and the Ministry for Transport to “step up. The 300 route needs proper monitoring and more resources – now.”

He added that “I’ve been calling since the start of the year for the bus to leave 5-10 minutes earlier to avoid these constant delays. Sadly, Transport Malta has yet to act.”

Luke Said concluded by saying that, “we can’t keep asking Gozitan students to pay the price for a broken system.”
