The Youth4Entrepreneurship Gozo 2025 initiative focusing on the theme, “Digital Solutions for a Smarter Island,” has been launched by the Gozo Business Chamber, in collaboration with Agenzija Zghazagh, the Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA), the Gozo Regional Development Authority (GRDA), Bank of Valletta, JA Malta Foundation, and Europe Direct Gozo.

Now in its seventh edition, the competition invites young people aged 16 to 35 to propose innovative, digital-based solutions tailored to Gozo’s specific needs.

The initiative aims to empower youth to become active contributors to Gozo’s development by addressing local challenges in areas such as energy efficiency, smart agriculture, digital commerce, waste management, sustainable transport, and community engagement.

The Gozo Business Chamber explained that a series of workshops and youth work sessions will be organised between July and September, guiding participants through idea development, financial planning, and pitching.

Finalists will be selected through a one-to-one pitching round in September, and four shortlisted projects will be presented at the final event on Friday, the 21 November 2025, at the Kempinski Hotel, San Lawrenz. Applicants will have to submit their idea by Saturday, the 13th of September.

Participants will pitch their ideas in front of a panel of experts, with prizes awarded to the top three proposals. All four finalists will also receive mentorship to help develop their business concepts further by the MDIA.

The Chamber went on to say that this year’s contest highlights the importance of digital innovation as a tool for sustainable growth, positioning Gozo as a model for future-ready regional development.
