A miniature replica of the Ta’ Giezu Crucifix which the Archconfraternity of the Holy Crucifix and the Franciscan Friars had given to the Diocese of Gozo, has been passed on for veneration at the Chapel of the Gozo General Hospital, following a mass on the Vigil of the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The Crucifix was blessed by the Bishop of Gozo Anton Teuma and then taken to the new niche prepared for it in the hospital’s chapel.
Minister for Health and Active Ageing Jo Etienne Abela, and the management, staff and residents at Gozo General Hospital participated in this celebration.
The Gozo General Hospital said that it is grateful for the miniature replica of the Crucifix and for the fortitude it will bring to the staff, patients and residents.
“The hospital is thankful for the continuous support of the Diocese of Gozo,” it said.
