The Gozo Business Chamber has welcomed the Ministry for Gozo and Planning, and Invest Gozo’s recent agreement with SiGMA, which will see Gozo host a number of events, in the lead-up to the main SiGMA Conference to be held in Malta.
In a statement, the Chamber noted that “following the investment in the second fibre optic link and the Gozo Innovation Hub, such developments help to position Gozo as a potential investment destination for technology companies. This is an important step for Gozo to start a process of economic diversification which is highly needed.”
The Gozo Business Chamber stressed that “this now needs to be accompanied by efforts targeting the creation of a holistic targeted investment package for the set up of such companies in Gozo, accompanied by the creation of a start-up eco-system for Gozo in value added niches such as technology, and the green economy.”
“Such a targeted approach should lead to the creation of high value-added economic niches which would contribute significantly to the diversification of the Gozitan economy,” concluded the Chamber.
