A multicultural event is taking place this Sunday in Qala, marking the theme – Christ’s Hope for All – and is being be held as part of the Feast of St Joseph programme of events.

The Rev. Archpriest and the Clergy of the Parish Church of Qala, in collaboration with the Provence 23 of The Catenians Association, are inviting the public tor the First Edition of Uniting Cultures in Qala.

A Sacred Music Concert will follow Holy Mass with the participation of Qala, Gozitan and international talent:- Secret Music Quartet under the direction of Maestro Antoine Mercieca, The Gozo Community Choir, Soprano Ruth Portelli and Pianist Dorelle Bigeni, Soprano Patricia Borg, Singers Anneka Xerri, Felicity Ann Xerri and Melanie Grima, Pianists John Paul Buttigieg and Alexia Muscat, and Ulied Guzeppi Choir (Sons and Daughters of St Joseph Choir).

The Catenian Award 2025 will be bestowed for the very first time.

The venue is the Church of the Immaculate Conception and St. Joseph, Qala this coming Sunday, the 27th of July, between 4pm and 6.30pm.

All are invited to the event, the organisers said they “especially welcome all foreign nationals residing or visiting Gozo.”

Gozitan and foreign gastronomy stalls will be at the Parish Square immediately after the concert ends as part of the Lelja Ghawdxija (Gozitan Evening) organised by the the Qala Local Council.

The organisers urged everyone to visit the Catenian and UNICQ 2025 stalls and taste food originating from countries where Maltese and Gozitan migrants lived around the world.
