Wirt Ghawdex has expressed its shock at the overhaul to the planning laws presented yesterday and has vowed to fight against the Bills.
The Gozitan NGO stated that for years, “the public’s resort to address injustice and a rigged planning system was the Law Courts, whose powers to redress atrocious development are now being severely diminished by this reform.”
It stressed that even more power is being given to the Planning Board, “which time and again has acted to favour the developers.”
Wirt Ghawdex concluded by saying that “we will be fighting this alongside other NGOs. We strongly urge all people of good will to join the good fight against this horrible proposal.”
