209,000 tourist trips were made in Q2, Italy was most popular destination

Latest National Statistics Office data issued today, show that outbound tourist trips from April to June reached 208,988, this was an increase of 11.6% over the corresponding quarter last year, while total nights spent amounted to 1,493,684, an increase of 23.9%
The NSO noted that once again Italy remained the most popular destination with a share of 37.9% of tourist trips.
The majority of guest nights (51.6%) were spent in non-rented accommodation establishments.
Outbound tourist trips in the first half of 2025 reached 390,391 (+6.1%) while total nights spent reached 2.8 million nights (+16.8%).
Total estimated expenditure by outbound tourists between January and June was estimated at €377.5 million and increase of 14.5%, equivalent to an average of €967 per capita, which was an increase of 7.9%, the NSO said.
