Following the closure of the membership renewal period, eligible Nationalist Party members are now able to cast their vote in the leadership election today and this coming Saturday, or on the official day of voting, Saturday, the 6th of September

Early voting begins today in the PN Leadership election, which, as provided for in the PN Statute, will culminate in a General Convention of members on Saturday, the 6th of September, when the new Leader of the PN will be elected.

This follows the closure at midday today of the membership renewal period for those wishing to update their membership in order to qualify for this vote.

The PN Electoral, Records and Data Commission went on to remind members that voting dates, times and locations are as follows:

· Wednesday 27 August 2025

First day of early voting

Malta: PN Headquarters, between 4pm and 9pm

Gozo: PN Sub-Headquarters, Sannat, between 4pm and 8pm

· Saturday 30 August 2025

Second day of early voting

Malta: PN Headquarters, between 9am and 7pm

Gozo: PN Sub-Headquarters, Sannat, between 9am and 5pm

· Saturday 6 September 2025

Election Day

Malta: PN Headquarters and PN Clubs in Safi, Tarxien and Mgarr, between 9am and 7pm

Gozo: PN Sub-Headquarters, Sannat, between 9am and 5pm

The Commission said that as outlined in the PN Statute, early voting is organised for members unable to vote on the official election day. However, all eligible members may freely choose the date and location where they wish to cast their vote, whether in Malta or Gozo, without the need for prior notice.

The Commission also reminded members that only those who renewed their membership card as set out in the Statute and Regulations – up to ten days before the election, by midday on 27th of August – are eligible to vote.

Voters must present their identity card together with the Voting Certificate that was delivered to households in recent days.

Members who renewed their membership between Monday and midday today, and intend to vote today or this Saturday 30th of August, will be able to collect it from their respective voting stations during early voting hours, prior to casting their vote.

This election is being contested by Alex Borg and Adrian Delia, who submitted their nominations after successfully completing the verification process led by the PN Candidates’ Commission over recent weeks.
