Following almost five years of work and preparation, the set of eight bells are finally being lifted up into the imposing belfry of the parish church, dedicated to Our Lady of Loreto in Ghajnsielem.
A steel structure for the set of eight new bells arrived at the Ghajnsielem church parvis last week.
Around 20 tonnes of steel beams and the necessary fittings for the bells were mounted in a 12 metre high free standing structure in the Ghajnsielem Church tower
The bells are being hoisted in place by a group of French engineers from the Cornille-Havard foundry in Normandy, France, where the bells were cast.
The bells arrived last in Ghajnsielem last August. The largest bell, MARIA LORETA will be lifted into the Church Tower this Sunday, the 27th of May at 11.00am.

Now I might as well throw out my alarm clock, thus saving on my power bill.
