The Gozo Philatelic Society showcase on level -1 at Il-Hagar museum is now dedicated to a Salesian theme.

The intention of the exhibition is is to celebrate Fr Fabio Attard SDB on his first official visit as the eleventh successor of St John Bosco. Gozitan Fr Fabio was elected earlier this year as the first Maltese Rector Major of the world-wide Salesian family.

The Society explained that the items exhibited are a range of stamps and commemorative handstamps issued along the years by the local postal authorities, accompanied by covers bearing them. Besides the founder himself and Mary Help of Christians (Marija Awziljatrici), other personalities are honoured too.

This exhibition remains until the actual date of his visitation on the 5th of October.

The museum is located in St George’s Square, Victoria, it is open 9am to 5pm seven days a week. Entrance is free of charge.
