Historical Niches of Gozo - Exhibition at the National Archives GozoAn exhibition focusing on the historic niches of Gozo is currently under way in Victoria.

The annual exhibition has a twofold scope. The first is to expose the public to the holdings at the National Archives Gozo (NAG) and the second is to highlight one or more aspects of the heritage of Gozo.

This year, the exhibition concentrates on historical niches with a religious theme scattered throughout the towns, villages and hamlets of Gozo. Fifty-four of these niches, photographed by Paul Falzon, are on display.

The history of the majority of these niches is unknown, but a number of them are well documented in the volumes of the National Archives Gozo, as well as other archives.

A full-colour catalogue of the exhibition reproducing all the niches on display, published in a very limited number, together with a commemorative card, are available from the venue.

The exhibition is on until Thursday, the 17th of November, at the National Archives Gozo, Vajringa Street in Victoria. It is open Monday to Saturday, from 8.00am to 12.30pm.
