Neil Agius has completed the Gozo 7 challenge arriving back in Marsalforn Bay on Saturday evening, welcomed by his team and a large crowd. He had set off last Sunday from Ramla Bay in Gozo on Day 1 of the Gozo 7 challenge.

The initiative, which was his most demanding yet, involved Neil swimming around 15 hours a day, for seven consecutive days around Gozo. The grand total over the 7 days was 270.54 km.

The team behind Neil monitored him closely each day, they said that “one of the pillars of the Gozo 7 is to study the data behind each swim to understand how the body responds under extreme pressure, and to discover new ways of coping through the toughest days.

“From Swim 1 to Swim 4, Neil’s biometrics show the toll of relentless strain, with recovery and sleep falling day by day while oxygen, blood pressure, and heart rate hold steady.

“This is not just about swimming across Gozo, it’s about testing the body and mind in real time, so the lessons can be shared far beyond the water,” they said.
