GBC at the INSULEUR General Assembly and Forum in Syros, Greece

Gozo Business Chamber representatives, President Michael Galea, Joseph Borg, Vice President of INSULEUR, and Daniel Borg, CEO of the Chamber and member of INSULEUR’s Technical Committee, attended the INSULEUR General Assembly and Forum, held on the island of Syros, Greece.
During the General Assembly, INSULEUR President Giannis Roussos presented an overview of the organisation’s recent activities and projects aimed at strengthening the representation of islands within the European Union.
He also expressed his appreciation to Joseph Borg for his continued commitment and valuable contribution to INSULEUR.
The INSULEUR Forum focused on sustainable agriculture in island economies, and featured high-level contributions from European representatives including Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, Themis Christophidou, Director-General, DG Regio, and Manolis Koutoulakis, General Secretary, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, of Greece.
Daniel Borg acted as rapporteur of the third panel, which discussed European, national, and regional policies to support the primary sector in island economies.
The panel explored how EU and national frameworks can foster innovation, strengthen rural communities, and create sustainable opportunities for farmers and entrepreneurs across the islands.
The Gozo Business Chamber said that its active participation in this international event “reaffirms the ongoing commitment to represent and strengthen Gozo’s voice within the European framework.”
