11-year old boy dies and man is missing after getting into difficulty at Ramla BayAn 11-year boy has died and a 37-year old man is still missing, after finding themselves in difficulty while swimming at Ramla Bay in Gozo. Both are from England.

Police said that they were called to the scene at 1.15pm on Monday afternoon. The Armed Forces of Malta and members of the Civil Protection Department were requested for an intensive search by both helicopter and dinghy

The boy was rescued from the sea and immediately given assistance by a medical team at the scene before being taken to the Gozo General Hospital, where he was sadly certified dead a short time later.

A search for the man is still ongoing

Magistrate Jean Paul Grech is leading an inquiry.

Police investigations are ongoing.

      What about someone from the civil protection department to be stationed there even in winter and everyday to warn especially tourists about such danger? Many foreigners don’t know the dangers there are when the sea is rough and that is why such incidents happen.
