The body of a British man who went missing at sea on Monday at Ramla Bay in Gozo, has been recovered.

The 37-year old man and his 11-year old son had got into difficulties while swimming at Ramla. His son, who was brought ashore on Monday was given first assistance at the scene by a medical team, but died shortly afterwards at hospital

In a statement, the Police said that searches for the man had continued in recent days and earlier this morning he was found dead at sea by the Armed Forces of Malta.

Magistrate Jean Paul Grech has appointed a magisterial inquiry.

Police investigations are ongoing.
