Arthall Gallery in Gozo has announced its next event, and this time it will be the book launch of ‘Tide of War,’ by retired U.S. army officer Andy Young, who now lives in Gozo. Andy will be at the gallery to present his book, followed by a book signing.

The book opens at a time of war which is looming in the Persian Gulf, duty, honour, and humanity are tested in the harsh light of the desert. November 1990. Coalition forces gather in Saudi Arabia on the eve of Desert Storm. Amid the tension and uncertainty, a small covert team is assembled for a mission that could alter the course of history.

The story continues with Captain Dillon Bombi preparing a newly formed unit for a mission deep into hostile territory, when he faces questions as never before – about his orders, his team, and his own conscience. Sergeant Luke Shoalwater, battle-tested and fiercely loyal, is the only one Dillon knows he can trust.

Miriam, is a civilian medic thrust into the chaos of covert war, who must confront her past and the risks of compassion. And Sergeant Mo al-Asadi, a Royal Marine, must weigh the cost – not only to himself, but to his family.

The gallery said that “authentic, relentless, and deeply human, Tide of War explores the unseen battles soldiers fight within themselves when duty and morality collide – and when the greatest threat may come from within.”

Andy Young is a retired U.S. Army officer currently living in Malta. He is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Reserve Organization of America, and is a member of Rotary International.

The book launch is on Friday, the 5th of December at 7.30pm, everyone is invited to attend.
