He added that, “this festival gives our children the opportunity from a young age to participate and even see the visual arts and also its fields with drama, dance, singing. It is a festival that continues to encourage our children to move forward and express themselves in a better way through the arts.”
This year’s festival, which is being held between the 14th and 23rd of November, in Gozo, Valletta and Birgu, brings local streets, squares and cultural spaces back to life through theatre, music, dance, films, puppets and interactive experiences, all productions created specifically for children and families.
The Festival’s Artistic Director Marta Vella stated that, “we are very proud to present the most extensive programme to date in Gozo, which will deliver school performances, performances for the general public and community activities, the 15th edition of ZiguZajg is sure to include something special for everyone.”
It was explained that Gozo has a strong presence at the festival with a programme specially prepared for Gozitan children and offers extraordinary journeys for all ages: from the magic of Chasing Rainbows for babies and children up to two years old, to Anton and the Ghakruxu and other productions aimed at children between 8 and 10 years old and which includes workshops and productions such as Planet Much N’ Staff.
