Earlier this month, the Gift of Love With a Difference campaign started in Gozo in support of animal sanctuaries across Malta and Gozo. This is an initiative that was born together with Jake Vella which this year has been extended to Gozo as well.

?During a visit to Zebbug Primary School, St Theresa School Kercem and Xewkija Primary School, the Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri together with Dr Lydia Abela officially launched the campaign in Gozo.

Primary schools and the Bishop’s Conservatory in Victoria, Gozo also joined in this initiative to collect food for the animals.

The Gozo Minister stated that “it is gratifying for us that this wonderful initiative this year was also extended to Gozo and that today together with Dr Lydia Abela we visited some schools in Gozo that presented their donations.”

He added that “our island still has a great sense of community and I have no doubt that the Gift of Love With a Difference campaign will be a testament to how much we Gozitans have a big heart and commitment to taking care not only of each other, but also of the animals in our sanctuaries.”

Minister Camilleri concluded by encouraging everyone to join together and continue to help the animals in our sanctuaries.

Dr Lydia Abela said that this initiative continues to demonstrate the values of solidarity and respect towards all forms of life. “It is very satisfying that it has now been extended to Gozo and that we are seeing children, educators and entire communities come together to help abandoned animals. These are the values ??that we want to instill in our children, and we want to continue to be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.”

Those who wish to participate in this initiative can place pet food or animal related products at Villa Rundle Rundle Gardens in Victoria, until the 26th of December.
