Gozo contributed 4.3% of GDP in 2024, with 8.7% increase in GVA

Latest data from the National Statistics Office shows that estimates for 2024 indicate that the contribution of Gozo and Comino region to national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) accounted to 4.3%, or €992.9 million.
In 2024, Gross Added Value (GVA) at basic prices in Gozo and Comino region and Malta region increased by 8.7% and 10.4% respectively and was estimated at €919.9 and €20,479.9 million respectively over 2023.
Last year, GDP per capita in Gozo and Comino region stood at 59.8% when compared to national level while that of Malta region was 103.0%.
The NSO noted that relative to Malta region, the Gozo and Comino economy is characterised by a higher proportion of economic activity resulting from Public administration and defence; Compulsory social security; Education; Human health and social work activities.
