On Tuesday, the first blood donation session of the new year in Gozo. The National Blood Transfusion Service advised that “Donors can help save three lives with just one donation.”
The Service encouraged Gozitans to please keep attending donation sessions to help the patients in need get the necessary blood in a timely manner and to ensure a stable blood supply.
The NBTS noted that is has updated the donor eligibility guidelines removing restrictions on a number of medications. For more information on donor eligibility please call on 22066201 or 79307307 or on free phone 80074313.
The next session in Gozo will be Tuesday, the 6th of January, from 1pm until 5pm, at the Xewkija Community Clinic.
“Your cooperation and generosity are greatly appreciated as always,” the Service said.
The centre is located at the Xewkija Community Clinic, in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.
Important notes from the National Blood Transfusion Service
• Bring your Maltese ID Card, driving licence or passport.
• Drink water before your donation and have a light snack, not a heavy meal.
• Wear loose fitting clothes/sleeves.
