The Malta Developers Association said that it welcomes with satisfaction the positive results announced by Eurostat which show that Malta has tripled its share of renewable energy in ten years.

The MDA noted that it was also revealed that last year, Malta met more than 17% of its energy needs from clean sources.

The Association welcomed the strong result. Through the renewable and sustainable energy section, the MDA said it has been working with the authorities concerned for the last 10 years “to jointly strengthen the schemes in our country and thus the people can invest in clean energy systems for a more sustainable life, both in our residences and in commercial places.”

Following the successful schemes for renewable systems in homes for the year 2025, The MDA said funds were exhausted and there was a waiting list for many new applicants.

It went on to say that “through constructive discussions between the MDA, led by the head of the renewable energy system section, Engineer Mario Cachia, and the concerned Ministries, we are pleased to announce that the necessary funds have been allocated so that these families can also benefit from subsidies on renewable energy systems.”

The MDA concluded by saying that it “remains committed to continuing to work to modernise our buildings, so that without losing the amenities for today’s needs, we have homes that can easily use less energy and benefit from clean energy systems. This is the path towards a more sustainable life.”
