An 84-year old man from Mosta has been grievously injured during a traffic accident in Gozo on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said that the accident happened at around 2.30pm in Triq L-Mgarr, Ghajnsielem.

The elderly man was hit by a Kia Picanto being driven by an 80-year old German national.

The man was given assistance by a medical at the scene before being taken to the Gozo General Hospital where he was later certified with grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
