Civil Protection Department personnel carried out a rescue operation on Sunday morning in Xewkija following a motorbike accident.
The CPD said that rescuers from Fire Station 6 responded to an emergency in Xewkija, after a man fell approximately 6 metres from a hill following a motorcycle accident.
The casualty was immobilised, safely rescued, and transferred to the medical team of the Gozo General Hospital, where he was admitted for further treatment, the CPD said.
The Police said that the man, who sustained serious injuries in the accident, is 45-years of age and from Mosta.
The Civil Protection Malta expressed its thanks to the Malta Police Force and the Emergency Department of the Gozo General Hospital for their assistance and cooperation.
