St George’s Basilica is hosting The Byron Consort of Harrow School for a choral concert next week.
Harrow boarding school was founded in 1572 under a Royal Charter. Harrow’s elite chamber choir, seen above, were invited a few days ago to sing at one of the most important churches in England St George’s Chapel Windsor.
The choir will now perform a concert in Victoria At St George’s Basilica on Monday, the 16th of February, starting at 7.30pm.
The programme, directed by Philip Evans, will include works by Bach, Bairstow, Bruckner, Ireland, Palestrina, Philips, Tomkins and Vella.
The date is near enough to the anniversary of the sudden demise of Joseph Vella and is included in the list of events for the annual celebration of Il-Hagar museum’s inauguration in 2013.
There is no entrance fee and all are invited to attend.
