Work on Triq Ta’ Klula, in Santa Lucia, Gozo, has now been completed, said Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri.

He added that this is the 10th road to be completed out of the 100 residential roads promised for Gozo in the next three years.

During a site visit, he said that this road has not only been given a new surface but also important infrastructural interventions that will mean a ”long-term impact on the service and sustainability of the area.”

Minister Clint Camilleri continued to explain that “we have also thought about the infrastructure of New Water. Triq ta’ Klula, which covers 1,500 square metres, is now being used again by the people of the area. In addition, we are currently carrying out other various extensive works including, Triq l-Arcisqof Pietru Pace, Triq Marsalforn, between Marsalforn and Victoria, as well as in Marsalforn itself and work that we also intend to start in the coming days.”

Among the main interventions carried out in Triq ta’ Klula was the relocation of the potable water pipe underground, in order to enhance the safety and reliability of the service, as well as the laying of the necessary infrastructure for the future introduction of New Water, so that the area is prepared for other investments related to the sustainable use of water in agriculture.

At the same time, consolidation work was also carried out on the road’s retaining wall, to ensure the structural stability and long-term safety of the rural passage.
