Following the recent inauguration of new RIU vehicles, the Malta Police Force has now introduced a new operational uniforms ”designed to further enhance officers’ preparedness, comfort and efficiency while carrying out their duties.”

The Police explained that the new uniform was specifically developed to meet the operational needs of the Rapid Intervention Unit, combining durability with a modern and functional design. Developed following consultation and evaluation with RIU officers themselves, the uniform offers improved mobility, ventilation and practicality during long hours of duty and operational deployments.

While maintaining consistency with the MPF’s current working uniform, the Police said that the new black design provides the RIU with a distinct identity tailored to the section’s operational requirements.

The new uniforms will officially start being worn from 7:00pm this evening (Monday).
