42 local councils, 9 localities in Gozo and 33 in Malta , will benefit from the cultural activities scheme with funding of €780,000 to organise various festivals, concerts and community initiatives that will continue to strengthen the cultural identity of the localities.

Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government Alison Zerafa Civelli announced that, “we will continue to invest in our communities and local councils. This time through another scheme dedicated to annual cultural activities. Through this scheme issued by the Local Government Division, they will be invested in the heart of our communities, so that citizens can enjoy everything that makes us Maltese.”

The Director General of the Local Government Division, Emil Vassallo, said that the ”coordinated work between the division, the councils and the regions led to a substantial improvement in services and the continuous professionalisation of the sector.”
