Alex Borg has submitted his nomination form for confirmation as Leader of the Nationalist Party to Mario Callus, Chairperson of the PN Electoral, Records and Data Commission.
The PN said that since there is only one nomination, according to Article 93 of the Statute, “this will be submitted to a secret vote by the General Council and, for the candidate to be declared elected, he must obtain at least fifty per cent plus one (50% + 1) of the valid votes cast by the councillors who have voted.”
In this case, members of the General Council will be asked whether they confirm Alex Borg as Leader of the Nationalist Party.
The PN Electoral, Records and Data Commission announced that voting will take place on Wednesday, the 15th of July, during the session of the General Council of the PN, which will continue following the opening of the plenary session of the 24th of June.
As provided for by the PN Statute, the Electoral Commission also announced that, in addition to the vote taking place on that day, it will also organise earlier voting sessions for those members of the General Council who, for any reason, are unable to vote on the actual day of the election.
