The Police, assisted by the Detention Services Agency, have conducted coordinated inspections in various localities in Gozo, where 31 people were found living in the country irregularly.

Those detained are are from African, Asian and European countries. They were taken to a Detention Centre pending the completion of their return process.

The Police said that together with the competent entities, it will be carrying out targeted inspections around the country.

”This will tackle irregular immigrants, the abuse of labour laws, and the exploitation of these people,” it said.
