Opposition Spokesperson for Gozo, Frank Tabone, has insisted that the Health Centre in Victoria, Gozo, ”should operate 24-hours a day as had been promised, and as proposed by the Nationalist Party, so that the Gozitan people are provided with a better and more accessible health service.”

He said that ”while I understand that an electoral programme gives the Government a full legislature to fulfil its promises, I believe that this should be an immediate priority.”

Tabone concluded by saying that ”this step will not only improve the care offered to patients, but will also substantially reduce the long waiting times and inconvenience that, in particular, the elderly and vulnerable people face when they need to use essential health services.”
