There were 302 reported traffic accident in Gozo during the second quarter of this year, up by 4.5% or 13 accidents on last year, the National Statistics Office said today. There were no fatalities reported in Gozo.

Of the 302 accidents, 246 were reported as non-injury road traffic accidents, down by 11 on 2025, or -4.3%. There were 56 reported with injuries involved, up by 24 on last year, or 75.0%

Victoria once again recorded the highest number of accidents with 90, this was followed by Xewkija with 44 and Nadur 35.

Also in Gozo – Kercem, Fontana and San Lawrenz registered less than 5 road traffic accidents. No accidents were registered at all in Ghasri.

On a national basis, during the second quarter there were three road traffic fatalities involving two males and one female.

Road traffic accidents increased by 1.1% to 4,072 and casualties increased by 16.0% to 398 when compared to the same period in 2025.

The NSO noted that between April and June the highest number of road traffic accidents occurred on Thursday with 662 cases or 16.3% of the total.

Qormi once again registered the highest number of road traffic accidents at 223 cases.
