Earlier this month, young people from Malta, Lithuania, Turkey, Poland, Italy and Egypt gathered in Vilnius, Lithuania, for an eight-day international youth exchange focused on the transformative power of creativity and artistic expression.

The C.R.E.A.T.E. project (Creative Resilience, Empowerment & Artistic Transformation for everyone) explored how art and creativity can serve as practical tools for inclusion, empowerment, communication and emotional well-being, providing participants with opportunities to learn, collaborate and express themselves across cultural and national borders.

Throughout the exchange, participants engaged in a range of hands-on activities exploring art as a tool for inclusion, storytelling and creative communication, sustainability and eco-art, and creativity as a pathway to entrepreneurship.

The programme concluded with a public artistic showcase in Vilnius, allowing participants to share their work and experiences with the local community.

The exchange was implemented in cooperation with Gozo-based Innovative Youth (Malta), EduLActiva (Lithuania), Colors for Artistic and Cultural Services (Egypt), Mekanik Kültur ve Genclik Dernegi (Turkey), and NICOLA (Italy and Poland).

Beyond the activities themselves, C.R.E.A.T.E. created a space for young people to build meaningful international connections, exchange perspectives and develop new skills.

The project concluded with the awarding of Youthpass certificates, recognising the learning and personal development achieved throughout the exchange.

C.R.E.A.T.E. demonstrates how international youth cooperation can turn creativity into a powerful vehicle for connection, confidence, inclusion and positive change. It is co-funded by the European Union.
