Residential consumers who were affected by six hours or more of power cuts during July and August will receive an ex-gratia payment of up to €110 depending on the length of time without power.

In a joint statement by Enemalta and ARMS, power outage hours during the two months will be combined.

Residential consumers identified by Enemalta’s systems do not need to apply for the scheme and will receive the payment automatically, shown as a credit on their electricity bill.

The payments will be calculated as follows:

6 to 8 hours €60

More than 8 to 12 hours €70

More than 12 to 24 hours €80

More than 24 to 36 hours €90

More than 36 to 48 hours €100

More than 48 hours €110

Those who believe they qualify but do not receive credit on their bill can apply through the scheme’s website between the 1st of October 2026 and the 31st of January 2027.

Non-residential consumers can apply through the Malta Enterprise website, which will administer the assistance for these accounts.
